KC experiences to give as gifts, from $5 to $1,795
What really matters is spending quality time with the ones you love, and the gifts on this list will help you do just that.
CrossroadsKC 2018 season pass @ $695 to $1,795
Where to cop: Ticketfly
You might be able to see more concerts than Chris with this gift. These transferable tickets grant you access to CrossroadsKC shows for the entirety of 2018. If you’re truly looking to ball out, the VIP version provides you front row access, free parking right next to the venue, entry to the air-conditioned lounge and use of the VIP only entrance that avoids the long lines at the main gate.
Pawn & Pint membership @ $25
Where to cop: Pawn & Pint
We recently wrote about Pawn & Pint getting a full bar, and it’s a perfect spot for any of you looking to revive the Monopoly feud with Grandpa. Plus, this time you can both drink (legally). Individual memberships get you access to the 1,000+ titles in the board game library, two free passes for friends and special discounts.
Corvino champagne and caviar for two @ $250
Where to cop: Corvino Supper Club & Tasting Room
For the most distinguished of tastes, Corvino Supper Club’s Michael and Christina Corvino offer one of their favorite indulgences: champagne and caviar service. While it’s pretty pricey at $250, the booking includes menu introduction from one of the chefs, sommelier service, one bottle of champagne, caviar and plenty of accoutrements. Whoever you take is sure to remember the occasion.
Road Trip T-shirt @ $28
Where to cop: Normal Human
Maker: Normal Human
For the person in your life that loves hitting the ol’ dusty trail, this shirt holds the power to both initiate and commemorate an adventure. So get out the map and start planning—we have the perfect conversation starter.
Breakout KC gift key @ $33.03
Where to cop: Breakout KC
Let’s be honest: Too much family time during the holidays can start to feel like a bad thing. In this case you’ll really have no escape -- unless your collective wits prevail, that is. Breakout KC is one of the highest rated escape games in the world, and sees you and your team attempting to solve puzzles in order to break free of your puzzle room before your 60 minutes is up. Ambitious folks can even attempt to set a new record time. Instead of a boring gift card, Breakout’s gift certificates come in the form of a wooden key.
L’Ecole Culinaire classes @ $30 to $85
Where to cop: L’Ecole Culinaire
Cooking is a skill that everybody can use, and this gift enables you to learn with your loved ones. While focused on serving as a culinary school for aspiring professionals, L’Ecole Culinaire offers public classes ranging from wine tasting to knife skills to pasta basics (and you always get to taste your work). Classes are scheduled weekdays and weekends (as well as mornings and evenings), and take place at L’Ecole’s Country Club Plaza location.
Roasterie tour @ $5 to $60
Where to cop: Roasterie
Roasterie is one of KC’s iconic coffee companies, especially recognizable for its huge airplane fixture taking off from its roasting headquarters on the Boulevard. The roasters offer a variety of tours, starting at $5 for the factory tour and increasing in price through the more advanced (and in-depth) tours like Roasters, Pour Over Methods and Latte Art, which are more akin to classes.
Boulevard tour @ $5, $20 or $25
Where to cop: Boulevard Brewing Co.
Nearby, Boulevard Brewing Co. offers 60-minute brewery tours concluding with beer sampling—aka quality time we can all get behind. If your giftee has been there and done that, something more intimate may be in order. For $25, the brewery offers an in-depth, two-hour Boulevard experience including food and beer pairings. If we’re buying for the-more-the-merrier-types, a 10-person group secures a spot for a $20 per guest private tour.
