Locally owned, chef-driven restaurant Hogshead Kansas City has not only set a mid-November opening, it also is already sharing its menu.

Owners Clark Grant and Shawn McClenny are remodeling the long dark (former California Pizza Kitchen) space at 4743 Pennsylvania Ave. on the Country Club Plaza.

Their menu will include “small plates” such as marrow bones, poutine (smoked pork cheek, frites, cheese curd and Tank 7 gravy), Medjoul dates (chorizo stuffed with piquillo-tomato sauce and goat cheese), and “large plates” such as a jalapeno-rubbed KC strip, braised short ribs, chicken thigh confit and a Reuben with smoked wagyu pastrami. Desserts will include a doughnut bread pudding, a foie gras Snickers bar (housemade Snickers stuffed with foie gras instead of nougat) and Jude’s Rum Cake.

▪ The Bar West Plaza is now open in the former Journeyman Cafe space at 1121 W. 47th St. Menu items include carne asada wraps, Southwestern steak salads, bacon jam burgers and smothered steak. It is owned by the same partnership behind The Bar West in Shawnee and The Bar in Mission

Goodbye Zona Rosa, hello Tiffany Springs

Marshalls, a tenant of the Northland’s Zona Rosa since early 2005, closed Friday.

But the national off-price retailer had already reopened in a 22,410-square-foot space at 8980 N. Skyview Ave., in the nearby Tiffany Springs MarketCenter. It also had a grand opening celebration Sept. 28. HomeGoods also closed in Zona Rosa but has a new location in the redeveloped Liberty Commons, about 15 miles from Zona Rosa.

Cupcakes Unlimited recently opened in the center.

▪ Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers plans an Oct. 26 grand opening for its new location at 8771 N. Ambassador Drive.
