Now on the menu at Crossroads music venue RecordBar: Ribs, Moroccan doughnuts, pizza
A year after relocating to the Crossroads Arts District, RecordBar is officially rolling out its new menu.
The music venue at 1520 Grand Blvd. had introduced some items during concerts, as well as some brunch items on weekends. But now the owners have officially launched the full-service restaurant side of the business.
Among the most popular items by chef James Landis have been the torta (carnitas, black beans, mayonnaise, jalapeno slaw, pepita salsa and queso), along with the slow-braised ribs with a choice of Korean sauce with a side of Asian spicy slaw or with Zim’s sauce and a side of Gorgonzola slaw.
The menu also includes veggie black bean burgers, Eggplant + Portobello Parm on a focaccia roll, peppered flat iron steak, fennel crusted salmon, roasted chicken and empanadas. It also has several specialty pizza selections including Thai, as well as build-your-own pizzas, and desserts such as Moroccan doughnuts with honey, dates and almonds.
Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and includes biscuits with chorizo gravy, corned beef hash, breakfast burritos, chicken and waffles, tofu scramble and French toast. It also will have a Bloody Mary bar during brunch.
Steve Tulipana and Shawn Sherrill opened RecordBar in Westport in 2005 but lost their lease in early 2016. The new location is just a block south of the Power & Light District and close to other music venues in the Crossroads.
“When we first started in 2003 when we wanted to do something, we were looking in the Crossroads. But we ended up in Westport,” Tulipana said. “Now 12 years later we are in the Crossroads. We love it.”
