KC Neighborhood Bracket: Round 1 tallies more than 700 votes; round 2 begins

After tallying more than 700 votes, we’re ready to reveal the results of Round 1 of our March Madness-style neighborhood bracket.

The interactive bracket featured 32 neighborhoods on both sides of State Line.

The River Market and Crossroads Arts District ruled easily, while fan favorites 18th and Vine and Columbus Park saw tighter matches.

The most notable upset came when Roanoke-Valentine dominated Hospital Hill.

And the most exciting buzzer beater was Quality Hill’s 0.4 percent win over Strawberry Hill.

Round 2 promises some stiff competition, with the West Plaza taking on the West Side, Columbus Park taking on the West Bottoms and Brookside going head to head with Union Hill.

Which neighborhoods will you pick in Round 2? Cast your vote by 2 p.m. Monday, August 14. We’ll follow up with results in the Side Note newsletter.
